how go fares work
The price of your GO trip is based on the distance you’re travelling
and your passenger category (adult, student, senior, or child). Frequent riders
can buy discounted tickets and passes, such as 10-ride tickets or monthly
passes.
On the GO Train Read about using two-ride and 10-ride tickets A transit enforcement officer, customer attendant, bus driver, or other proper authority can ask to see your ticket on the train or bus, or in any other fare-paid area of the GO system. If you cannot show a ticket, you are liable to be fined.
On the GO Bus Refunds on unused GO tickets and passes GO Transit offers refunds on unused portions of 10-ride tickets and monthly passes. These are the only ticket types that are eligible for refunds. We calculate the refund amount by deducting the number of trips that are determined to have been used from the total cost of the ticket or pass. The used trips deducted from the total are valued at the non-discounted, single-ride fare. Refund requests must be made by mail to our head office, and there is a 15% processing fee. To submit a refund request, please ask for a form and an addressed return envelope at your station. We also offer a printable version of the refund request form in pdf format. The mailing address is included on the form. Unused GO tickets and passes can be exchanged or upgraded for tickets or passes of higher value, with no processing fee.
