Denison Road Underpass

The new Denison Road will pass under the tracks and be re-aligned between Jane Street and Weston Road. The existing Denison Road East will be converted into a cul-de-sac, as will Sam Frustaglio Drive. Arthur Street will become a turn-about.

Updates

  • April 30 – The first half of the GO bridge deck was poured over the weekend of April 14. Sheet piling work has also begun to the west of the tracks between Weston Road and the rail crossing. Sheet piles are interconnected steel plates that are inserted into the ground with vibratory equipment, and will form the basis of the retaining walls for the future lowered Denison Road. The installation of this section of sheet piling work is scheduled to be completed by the end of May. The track grading work has been completed and ballast will be laid on May 11. The entire GO bridge structure will be completed by the end of May. The cut-over for GO tracks will take place from May 11 to 13 and for CP Rail tracks from May 29 to 31 in order for work to begin on the CP Rail bridge.
  • April 11 – Beginning Monday, April 16, sewer work will begin in the intersection of Denison and Weston Roads. Traffic travelling north and south on Weston Road will be reduced to one lane in either direction. Bus stops for TTC will be relocated; bus service will not be impacted.
