PROJECT COORDINATORS

Start Rate $34.81 per hour
$34.81 - $44.10 per hour (ATU Bargaining Unit)

Working with an energetic, talented and committed team in the Railway Corridor Infrastructure Division, you will coordinate the design and construction of assigned physical infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for managing projects through all stages of design and construction in terms of function, quality, budget, schedule and approvals in co-ordination with external and internal authorities; administering consulting agreements and construction contracts; identifying, developing and recommending physical infrastructure programs; researching, developing and recommending maintenance standards and procedures.

Location:       20 Bay Street, Toronto
Qualifications:   Must have a college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience providing a thorough knowledge of the theories and practices of engineering/architecture.  Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience related to the planning, design and construction of transit facilities; interpreting and applying contract plans and specifications; and coordinating contracted engineering projects.  Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of civil engineering and architecture. Must have detailed knowledge of project management including cost control, scheduling, codes, standards, specifications, applicable contract legislation, and corporate policies and procedures. Must have thorough understanding of Railway Rules and Regulations, and Safety and Operating Procedures.  Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, strong interpersonal, negotiating, and analytical ability are a must.  Proficiency in the use of project management software and computer applications is essential.  Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training and certification required by corporate policy.
