Bicycles

GO Transit is bike-friendly and customers can bring their bike on the Niagara Falls service, but please note that there is only a limited amount of space available on each train, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bringing bikes on most of these trips is similar to all other GO rail services. Four bicycles fit on each regular GO railcar, two just inside each set of doors. Bicycles are not permitted in doorways next to the washroom. These doorways are indicated with a “no bike” symbol. Bicycles are not allowed on wheelchair-accessible train cars.

Please be aware that if you are travelling by GO Bus to or from Niagara Falls that the bike racks on the front of all GO Buses can accommodate two bicycles. Availability is on a first come, first served basis.

Customers on the 9:40 a.m. trip from Union Station and the 7:20 p.m. trip from Niagara Falls:
To allow more bikes on our busier trains, a designated bike coach is available on these two trips to store your bike. This is for customers travelling between Union Station and Niagara Falls only. This coach is located nine cars back from the locomotive and provides secure, locked storage for your bicycle. Customers should load their bike onto the bike coach at Union Station or Niagara Falls and proceed to one of the other passenger coaches nearby. The doors will not open at any station other than Union Station and Niagara Falls. Customers getting on or off at stops in between should follow GO’s regular bicycle policy.

You can also rent bikes on arrival in Niagara Falls – visit our Attractions and Special Offers page and check out the offer from Zoom Leisure.

Please see our bicycle page for more information on bringing your bike on the GO Train.

Please contact us if you plan on travelling in a large group with bicycles.

The route

This is the first time GO is traveling to the Niagara Region and we are excited to be offering this new excursion service.

While every effort will be made to get you there on time, customers may experience delays because of the single track shared by GO, freight, and VIA trains through this corridor, as well as the ships passing through the Welland Canal.
