courtesy tips for riders
Here are a few tips to remember when riding GO, to make your trip – and
everyone else’s – more pleasant:
- Please respect the Courtesy Seating signs on GO Trains and GO Buses.
Courtesy Seating should be kept available for passengers with disabilities or
injuries, as well as senior citizens or expectant mothers.
- One car on every train is accessible to people who need step-free access
to the train, including passengers who use mobility devices such as
wheelchairs and scooters, senior citizens, passengers with medical conditions,
or those with luggage or baby strollers. Please make sure there is plenty of
room for these passengers to board and, for those who need it, to use the
Priority Seating on the lower level of the car. These priority seats are
flipped up for passengers using wheelchairs or scooters. Each
accessible GO Bus also has Priority Seating.
- Please put your newspapers in recycling bins and your litter in garbage cans at
the station. Garbage cans are also found on the trains.
- For everyone’s safety, please place your belongings under your seat or on
your lap. When standing, please carry your backpack in your hand to avoid
bumping into other passengers.
- Standing in front of doors makes it difficult for people getting on or
off. Please keep doors easily accessible.
- When using cell phones, please be mindful of others by turning down your
ringer volume or switching to vibrate mode, and by speaking quietly while on
the phone.
- When listening to radios, CD players, or other devices with headphones,
please make sure the volume is low so you don’t bother the passengers around
you.
- Talk low on the go. Please keep your voice low when talking to people
sitting near you or across the aisle.
- Seating on GO Trains and GO Buses is first-come, first-served. Please do
not try to “save” seats for others.
- Please keep your feet off the seats around you.
- Please refrain from spraying perfume or applying scented beauty products
while on the train or bus. Doing so may bother other passengers with allergies
or sensitivities.
