When you buy a two-ride or a 10-ride ticket, you’ll have more than one ride available for use on just one cardboard ticket, so you’ll have to “cancel” one ride each time you take a trip.

1. Buy your ticket at a GO Transit train station, bus terminal, or ticket agency, specifying your starting point and destination. The ticket seller will sell you a ticket that has the appropriate fare zone numbers printed on it.

2. Before going to the train platform, look for a ticket-cancelling machine. Insert your two-ride or 10-ride ticket in the slot with the black strip facing down and listen for the "chunk."

3. Remove the ticket and check the line printed by the machine. It should display the current date and time. Keep the ticket handy for random ticket inspections. You’re now ready to ride.

Troubleshooting: If the machine beeps, remove the ticket and try again. A two-ride ticket can be stamped for one ride on each end; a 10-ride allows five rides at each end. The machine will beep if you are trying to stamp more rides than allowed. The machine will also reject damaged tickets. If after a few tries the machine does not accept it, take the ticket to a GO station attendant.

It is very important to stamp your ticket properly. If you're found on board a train without a valid ticket that shows correct fare zones and correct date and time, you're liable to be fined.

If there is anything wrong with your ticket (e.g., an overstamp), please report it.

On the bus: GO Buses have a similar machine for stamping your ticket. Ask your bus driver for assistance.

Other tickets and passes: If you’re using a single-ride ticket, day pass, or monthly pass, you don't need to insert your ticket in the machine. Just keep it handy for random ticket inspections.
