Federal transit tax credit

You may be eligible for a non-refundable tax credit to help cover the cost of public transit. Riders who purchase public transit passes or electronic payment cards like PRESTO may be able to claim a deduction on their federal taxes for 2012. Transit pass holders must keep their passes in order to claim the credit. PRESTO card users who registered their card at www.prestocard.ca before February 8, 2013 are able to download their usage statement starting February 18, 2013.
