Cooksville GO Station

Great news! We’ve started a total makeover of your station. We’re working to improve Cooksville GO Station to make it easier and more convenient to take transit across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.

What’s Changing

There are lots of changes coming to your station and the community, including:

  • A new station building with a large public plaza
  • 1,200+ new parking spaces with the addition of a new parking structure complete with a pedestrian bridge to the rail platform
  • 8 new bus bays for GO and MiWay bus service
  • Upgrades to pedestrian tunnels to access rail platforms
  • Repairs to parking lots
  • New station entrance from Hurontario Street
  • Connections to the future Hurontario LRT line

Crews are now building a new parking lot that you’ll be able to use during later phases of construction.

What’s Next

Starting in 2018, expect to see some parking restrictions, the demolition of the current station building, the re-location of the Kiss & Ride area and bus loop, as well as limited platform access at times.

We’ll be providing you with timely updates throughout each phase to let you know what’s going on and how to access station amenities during construction. We promise to keep you informed and will try to keep disruptions to a minimum as we improve your station. The best way to stay informed is with our On the GO alert emails or texts. The parking structure and all new station amenities are scheduled to be open by the end of 2020.

Work on the Cooksville GO Station project is part of a larger, system-wide plan to improve overall GO Transit service within the next 10 years. The station will also easily connect to Metrolinx’s future Hurontario LRT. Learn more about GO Regional Express Rail (RER).
