The Project

What We've Been Up To

We have installed the precast sections for two new pedestrian tunnels under the tracks and erected the future utility building, east of the existing station building.

We are also:

  • finishing the new east tunnel;
  • installing new elevators, the snow-melting system and canopies with built-in shelters on the platforms; and
  • working on the new station building.

What's Next

  • We will continue to provide you with updates before changes take place and as we make further progress.
  • There will also likely be a few weekends where we go down to hourly service on the Lakeshore East corridor to allow for work close to the tracks. Visit for more information.

When We're Finished

We are making major upgrades to Guildwood GO Station to make it easier and more convenient for customers to access the station and GO services. Work started in January 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in early 2019.

The planned upgrades include:

  • a new, expanded station building with improved amenities that will make our customers’ commute more convenient, including larger indoor waiting areas, improved lighting levels, expanded washrooms and an outdoor waiting plaza two new pedestrian tunnels with elevators to both platforms
  • completely rebuilt platforms with new canopied accessible mini-platforms, heated shelters and a snow melting system
  • improvements to the north Kiss & Ride and parking lot to enhance traffic flow
  • improvements to the south parking lot that will enhance traffic flow, including realignment of the lot to accommodate the new station building and construction of a new south Kiss & Ride.

This project also includes building infrastructure that will support future increases in rail service and the electrification of the Lakeshore East corridor.

  • Preliminary works for future electrification of the station
  • The new design will provide space for a future 4th GO Transit track between the existing tracks and the new station building
