Parking at your local GO station is a shared space between you and your fellow
commuters.
There are multiple ways to access your station – such as riding local transit,
walking, cycling, getting a ride, and carpooling – and parking can often present
a challenge for some commuters.
Here are a few handy do’s and don’ts to remember to help improve parking safety
and courtesy at your GO station.
Do:
- Try to arrive early for your train.
- Be courteous to other drivers by parking only in designated spots.
- Take a look at the parking lot at your station. If you have trouble
finding a spot, try getting to your station another way or checking a nearby
station’s parking availability.
Don’t:
- Don’t wait until the last minute to leave your house and hope to find
parking.
- Don’t park illegally – this means no parking in emergency access routes,
reserved parking spaces that do not belong to you, laneways that block other
cars, or accessible parking spaces (unless you have a permit). If you park
in an undesignated spot, your car may be towed.
- Don’t use the kiss & ride area for parking or take up more than one
parking space.
Thanks for helping us improve station access!
Our commitment to helping you find parking:
We understand the daily struggle many customers go through to find parking.
That’s why we’re dedicated to expanding our lots and searching for new parking
options.
Since 2003, we’ve added more than 10,000 spaces, and are working on adding even
more. In 2009, we’re planning on adding about 4,000 more spaces!
We’ve also built, and are still building, multi-level parking facilities at some
of our stations.
- Burlington GO Station – 800 spaces, opened in September
2008
- Whitby GO Station – 900 spaces, construction starting
in spring 2009
- Aurora GO Station – 860 spaces, scheduled to open
December 2009
