Folding bike etiquette tips

Cyclists travelling with folding bikes on peak-period GO Trains are asked to please follow these simple etiquette tips to help keep travel safe and comfortable for all passengers.

GO compact
• Remember to keep your bike folded when standing on platforms and moving through station buildings. Wait to unfold your bike in areas that are not busy with people, such as sidewalks, roadways, or station parking lots.

GO courteously
• Try to bring your folding bike onto trains that are not full and crowded with commuters. To find out which times and trains best work for you, visit our past train on-time performance page.
• Be courteous to other passengers and place your bike in a low traffic area, such as under your seat and away from doorways.

GO clean
• Keep your bicycle clean of excess grease and dirt. Do not place your folding bicycle on seats or in locations where it could soil seat cushions or other customer's clothing.
• Consider placing your bicycle in a bag before bringing it on board the train. This will make it easier to carry and will keep the train clean.

Please remember: GO staff retains the right to ask you to disembark or prevent you from boarding the train with your folding bike. This policy applies to all large packages brought on board GO Trains and may happen if a train is overcrowded or if your bike will disturb other passengers. Please cooperate with our staff’s requests, as we are trying to ensure the best possible commuting experience for all.
