Airport Travel Tips for March Break

  • Give yourself extra time for travel, check-in, security screening and baggage
  • Check-in online from home if possible (within 24 hours before your flight)
  • Remove all old bag and luggage tags to avoid confusion
  • Put your name and address on all checked and carry-on luggage before arriving at the airport
  • Check weight and size restrictions for checked baggage on your ticket or with your airline directly
  • Do not carry any restricted items in your baggage. (Click here for a complete, up-to-date list of restricted items)
  • Avoid carrying metal items that may trigger metal detectors (i.e. belts, buttons, body piercings, steel toe shoes, etc.)
  • Have your travel documents, valid photo ID and tickets ready before you reach your airline counter or kiosk
  • Know what you can and can’t carry in your carry-on luggage (i.e. Gels, Liquids, Aerosols, food, etc.) For more information, visit Transport Canada
