Here is the information we have to report at 05:36, June 16, 2013
Track Maintenance
Regular track maintenance is necessary to keep our trains running safely
and on schedule. GO Transit works with the railways to do seasonal
construction and repair work at various spots across the system.
Replacing track ties, repairing sections of track, and general
maintenance are just a few examples of the upkeep required to keep
our trains running on time, every time. While most of the work is done
on the weekends and at night, some trains may travel slower through
certain areas.
If your train is moving slowly and you don’t see any work being done on
the tracks, it’s because the area around new track work must settle
before trains can resume their regular speeds. While these slower
speeds continue for a short while following any repairs, the overall
impact on our schedules is minor with delays not exceeding 10 minutes.
