Lights on Stratford

Lights on Stratford

Lights On Stratford transforms the downtown core and parks of Stratford with glowing art and interactive light installations for the third year. The theme for Lights On Stratford 2022 is REKINDLE, with a focus on “the importance of rekindling a sense of joy, wonder and community.” Featured displays include Jen Lewin’s THE POOL in Market Square, where visitors can walk, jump, or dance on touch-activated concentric circles, and AFFINITY on Tom Patterson Island, an interactive light sculpture that raises awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. As you stroll along the Light Trail, you’ll see and interact with other installations. and explore beautiful Stratford while sampling delectable treats along the way! Be sure to visit some local downtown businesses, who will be lit up with their own unique displays as part of Stratford’s shareable moments. Chicopee Tube Park

For a blast of wintry fun, head to Chicopee Tube Park in Kitchener! Snow tubing is a great way for adventurers aged 4 and up to enjoy the snowy season. All participants must be a minimum of 42 inches tall. Space is limited so be sure to book your Chicopee tubing experience in advance and arrive 15 minutes ahead of your 90-minute time slot to get suited with your helmet. After you’re done sliding down the slopes, warm up with a snack or lunch at the Chalet Cafe, or grab a drink at the Ranger Lounge. You’ve got a safe ride home with GO!

2023 Canadian International AutoShow

The Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto is the largest automotive event in the country. Returning after a two year hiatus, the Canadian International AutoShow is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Whether you’re thinking of purchasing a car soon and want to find out about all the newest models, or you’re just an overall auto enthusiast, you’ll find everything you’re looking for at the Canadian International AutoShow. But, just because you’re attending an auto show, that doesn’t mean you need to drive there and deal with the hassle of downtown parking. Enjoy this fun and family-friendly light show from the comfort of your car, or on foot! Journey Into Enchantment 2022 features over 2 million lights, including 2D and 3D displays, and you have two convenient locations to choose from, as well as, two ways to experience the show! Events will take place at Meadowvale GO Station and Richmond Hill GO Station, so it’s easy to get there! You can choose the drive-thru experience — perfect to visit after work if your car is already parked at one of the stations. Or, you can choose the walk-thru experience and bring the whole family on the train!       This season, Celebration Square in Mississauga is a great place to soak up some holiday spirit. You can go skating at the city’s biggest outdoor rink and take some festive photos in front of the 40’ Christmas tree. Admire the glowing public art installations around the Square, and walk through Passage — an interactive display made up of circles of light that form a tunnel. Grab a seat on the heated patio and enjoy tasty treats and hot beverages from one of the food trucks.

      Holiday Fair in the Square

      Nathan Phillips Square will transform into a winter wonderland as the Holiday Fair in the Square returns — this year, in association with the Cavalcade of Lights. The Fair in the Square includes an Artisan Marketplace where you can shop for unique holiday gifts, a variety of performers, and a Holiday Midway with rides, games, and prizes. You can enjoy skating, festive snacks, drinks at the Polar Point Bar, and a photo op with Santa. Be sure to stay for the lights when it gets dark. Your toes might get cold, but the holiday magic will warm your heart!

Nordic bands Tuuletar and VÍÍK will perform in a Nordic Music Double Bill that’s sure to delight any music fan.
