Starting late in the evening on Friday, November 3, and throughout the weekend, Barrie train service will be adjusted for construction. GO buses will replace train service.

There will be no train service on the Barrie line on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5 while we perform important construction along the corridor. GO buses will replace train service during this time. Service will also be adjusted the evening on Friday, November 3. 

Here’s what you need to know: 

Friday, Nov. 3: 

Some trains on the Barrie line will be adjusted on the evening of Friday, Nov. 3. Suspended trips will be replaced by GO bus services: 

  • The 9:05 p.m. southbound train trip from Allandale Waterfront GO to Union Station will be suspended and will be replaced with GO bus services. 
  • The 8:53 p.m. northbound train from Union Station will be extended to Bradford GO, arriving at 10:07 p.m. 
  • The 9:53 p.m. northbound train will be six cars in length. 
  • The 10:53 p.m. northbound train from Union Station to Allandale Waterfront GO will be suspended and will be replaced with GO bus services. 

Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4 – 5: 

GO buses will provide service between Allandale Waterfront GO and Union Station Bus Terminal. 

  • Some bus trips will run express to Union Station Bus Terminal. 
  • Some bus trips will run express between Allandale Waterfront GO, Barrie South GO, Bradford GO, East Gwillimbury GO, Newmarket GO, Aurora GO, King City GO, Maple GO, Rutherford GO, and Union Station Bus Terminal.  
  • Some bus trips will depart earlier or later than the usual train time.
  • GO buses will not serve Downsview Park GO. Please use TTC to travel to and from this station.
  • Check updated schedules, including connections, before your travel and use gotransit.com or triplinx.ca to plan your trip.  
  • Note: Buses will depart on a different schedule than the trains normally do. Please check your bus departure times before you travel.
  • Regular train service will resume Monday, November 6. 

What type of construction work is happening? 

We will be performing track construction and maintenance along the Barrie corridor to ensure the safe and reliable operations of our train service. This work will also focus on platform upgrades at Maple GO and switch upgrades near Aurora GO as part of the GO Expansion.
