What’s Changed
Construction to transform your station is now complete!
Construction at your station is now complete, marking a significant progress milestone for GO Expansion and one of the busiest GO stations on the Kitchener line. Construction work that began in April 2018, has brought much-needed improvements to the station, including:
- A new station building, where customers can more easily access the train platforms from the station building using the accessible underground station building pedestrian tunnel and upgraded elevators
- A new parking garage with 2,059 spaces, which features a colour-coded wayfinding system, two fully accessible elevators, a brand-new car counting system and over 100 security cameras.
- A new passenger pick-up and drop-off area, making it easier and safer for cars to drop off customers
- Covered bicycle parking, so customers can cycle to the station and leave their bike as they board a train or a bus, and know it will be dry when they get back
- New emergency call systems and upgraded lighting to enhance station safety
- Upgraded access to the station from Bramalea Road for drivers
- Improved bus platforms for GO Transit and Brampton Transit, with a dedicated Züm bus loop, which will allow all of the bus services that serve Bramalea to be in the same place
- Renovated island (north) platform and side (south) platform that has been extended to accommodate 12-car trains in preparation for more customers at this busy station
- Platform canopies to shelter customers from the weather as they wait for their train, as well as new snow melting systems on the platform for added safety in the winter
This project is part of GO Expansion, which will increase service and get GO customers where they need to go.
