Whitby GO Station Construction

We've Improved Your Station!

We recently completed construction on amenities to make it easier to access GO services.

Here is what you need to know:

      • The elevators connecting the pedestrian tunnels are fully upgraded and back in service.
      • We’ve finished installing tactile yellow safety tiles at the edge of the train platform to remind you how far back to stand.
      • The Brock Street parking lot is now open.

What's Changing

Contractors have begun rehabilitating the staircase from the Brock Street parking lot to restore pedestrian access to the bus loop. This work will be done in two phases, with the first expected to be completed late February 2022.

There will be no impact to how you access the station, however 5 parking spaces will be temporarily closed to store equipment. There will still be plenty of parking spaces for you to use. Please follow the signs and use caution when moving around construction areas.

How you'll benefit

These upgrades are work we are carrying out as part of GO Expansion, to enhance and maintain the safety and accessibility of our existing stations.

GO Expansion will increase the frequency and number of GO trains across the rail network, reduce congestion and connect a growing region with fast, reliable transit options to get you where you need to go.

At your station this means you’ll benefit in future from:

    • Improved safety features including tactile yellow safety tiles on the platform to remind you how far back to stand.
    • Upgraded elevators will improve reliability and ensure everyone has consistent access to the platform.
    • New digital signs that will display schedule information in the future.
    • Secure bike rooms, which will become part of our reserved bike program.
