Changes to how you board your bus at Hamilton GO start May 22

What's changing?

The way you board your bus will change so buses can move easier and safer through the terminal. Our buses will no longer be assigned specific numbered platforms for departures. Instead they will depart from different platforms within one of four zones: zones A and B for routes 16 and 18, and zones C and D for routes 40 and 47. New signs at the terminal will show the zone and the routes that depart from it.

Departure boards at the terminal will show the zone instead of the platform number. Five minutes before buses depart, announcements will be made at the terminal to let you know which platform number within the zone you will need to go to. The trip will then also show on the destination sign on the outside of the bus.

We take your safety seriously and you should too.

  • Hundreds of buses go in and out of Hamilton GO Centre every day. Take extra care and be aware of your surroundings.
  • For your safety, stay out of the path of buses – never walk in the driveway.
  • Always use the walkways, only cross at the designated crossing area and never chase a bus.
  • Crossing or walking where you’re not supposed to puts you at risk of injury and you could be fined up to $1,000.
