It’s that magical time of the year where one celebrates the triumph of good over evil with Diwali - one of the biggest South Asian festivals.
Known as the festival of lights, Diwali enjoys significant celebrations in India and across the world. Celebrating the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, Diwali signifies new beginnings and the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. The lighting of diyas (lamps) and the vibrant display of fireworks represent the illumination of inner light, dispelling negativity and welcoming positivity. Families come together to exchange sweets, gifts, and well-wishes, reinforcing bonds and fostering community spirit.
In Canada, Diwali has gained popularity for its inclusivity and spirit of togetherness, embraced by people from diverse backgrounds as a joyous occasion that promotes harmony and unity.
All aboard the GO Diwali Train!
This Diwali, we are turning your commute into a celebration, and everyone is welcome! The on-board festivities end on November 15, but you can still catch the decorated GO Diwali train coach around the Greater Golden Horseshoe until November 26. If you see it, don’t forget to snap a picture!
Hop aboard our special GO Diwali train coach from November 10 – 15 on select routes on the Kitchener line and prepare yourself for a colourful festive surprise. Our volunteers on board are around to help you get comfortable.

- NOTE: If using the One-Day Weekend Pass to go to Niagara Falls GO Station, the local WEGO bus connection is not included. If required, you will need to purchase a WEGO pass to be able to board the bus.
Weekday Group Pass
With our Weekday Group Passes, groups can get unlimited travel throughout the GO network for one low fare:
- $30 for 2 people, $40 for 3 people, $50 for 4 people, and $60 for 5 people
- Passes are valid for all-day travel on a weekday (Monday-Friday)
