Toronto Caribbean Carnival, North America’s largest cultural festival, returns this year with a month-long celebration, culminating with the Grand Parade weekend July 28th - 31st. The Toronto Caribbean Carnival is back, and all the exciting events around Exhibition GO Station are easy to get to with GO! Save the stress of navigating around road closures, paying for gas, and trying to find parking.

The return of the Grande Parade

After three long years, the Grande Parade is returning in person on Saturday July 30! North America’s largest Caribbean festival is sure to be one of the biggest parties of the year. The parade, taking place over Emancipation Day weekend, is an annual celebration of freedom and emancipation, featuring over 10,000 revelers and masqueraders jumping, dancing and showing off their bright, beautiful costumes.

You can purchase tickets for the paid events on parade day, or watch for free along the Lake Shore. Either way, taking GO to Exhibition GO Station is the easiest way to the highlight event of Toronto Caribbean Carnival.

Be on the lookout for GO Transit and Metrolinx while on site! We will have an interactive special experience and giveaways for visitors to our event area on Grande Parade day – you won’t want to miss us!

Get there with GO: Take the Lakeshore West Line to Exhibition GO Station and you’re immediately immersed in the festival! It’s a short walk to the ticketed areas of the festival, or otherwise to Lakeshore Boulevard if you’re looking to watch the parade for free.

Special Kitchener line service for Toronto Caribbean Carnival:

We’re adding special Kitchener line service on Saturday, July 30 to provide customers with more transit options to the Grand Parade.

  • The first eastbound trip will depart from Georgetown GO at 7:12 a.m., making all stops to Union Station.
  • All other eastbound trips will begin at Mount Pleasant GO, with departures every two hours. The last eastbound trip from Mount Pleasant GO will depart at 9:22 p.m.
  • Westbound trips from Union Station to Mount Pleasant GO will depart every two hours, starting at 8:23 a.m. The last westbound trip from Union Station will depart at 10:23 p.m., making all stops to Georgetown GO.

Kitchener line passengers continuing to Exhibition GO can switch trains at Union Station for Lakeshore West line service to get to Exhibition GO.

For its 55th anniversary, TCC’s theme of “On De Road Again” celebrates the excitement and buildup for in-person festivities returning, including the incredible Grand Parade, which is happening on Saturday July 30th. Throughout the Festival, there are several events happening in Toronto that GO can conveniently take you to.

King and Queen Showcase

On Thursday July 28 at Lamport Stadium - an easy walk from Exhibition GO Station - enjoy music, live performances, dance, and delicious foods as you admire over 50 elaborate festival costumes. Amidst all of the incredible showcase of talent from masqueraders and bands alike, festival judges will crown the King and Queen of the year at the end of the night.

Get there with GO: Lamport Stadium, located within Toronto’s iconic Liberty Village, is easily accessible by GO Transit. Take the Lakeshore West Line to Exhibition GO Station, and it’s a short walk up Atlantic Avenue and then west on Liberty Street.

The Ontario Steel Pan Association’s ‘Pan Alive’ is taking place at Lamport Stadium on the night of Friday July 29. Enjoy food and drinks while you watch live steel pan performances, featuring competitions and showcases to set a perfect Friday night vibe.
