    Seasonal Weekend Niagara Falls Train Service Returns Starting May 21

    We continue to bring back more GO train service, including seasonal Niagara Falls service on weekends and holidays.

    • From the Victoria Day long weekend until Thanksgiving weekend, choose from three trips to Niagara Falls departing Union Station at 8:51 a.m., 12:51 p.m. and 4:51 p.m., and trips to Toronto departing Niagara Falls at 11:15 a.m., 3:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. As in previous years, trains will also stop at St Catharines, Aldershot, Burlington, Oakville, Port Credit and Exhibition.
    • The trains will have 12 cars and include three bike coaches that can each hold 18 bicycles. Travelling with a bike? Check out these tips before you travel with us.
    • Staying out late? GO Bus Route 12 can get you home after the last train. Be sure to check schedules before you travel.

    Trains will run hourly June 4 and 5 due to construction

    On Saturday June 4 and Sunday, June 5, there will be changes to train service due to construction. We are upgrading a section of the tracks to continue providing reliable service and enabling work at Exhibition GO to prepare it for future Ontario Line construction.

    Here is what you need to know:

    • Trains will run hourly between Union Station and West Harbour GO.
    • Departure, arrival, and travel times will vary due to construction.
    • Trains will run between Union Station and Niagara Falls GO. But they will depart and arrive later than usual. Travel time between Union and Burlington GO will take longer than usual.
    • Please plan ahead and check GO schedules before your trip. You can also explore transit connections at triplinx.ca.

    No train service at St. Catharines and Niagara Falls June 6 to 8

    From Monday, June 6 to Wednesday, June 8, there will be no train service at St. Catharines and Niagara Falls GO due to construction. CN will be working on the rail bridge spanning the Welland Canal Parkway in St. Catharines.

    Here is what you need to know:

    • The train that usually departs Niagara Falls at 5:57 a.m. will instead depart West Harbour GO at 7:13 a.m.
    • The train that departs Union Station at 5 p.m. will end at West Harbour GO at 6:18 p.m.
    • Route 12 GO buses will continue to serve Niagara Falls Bus Terminal and make all regular bus stops between the bus terminal and Burlington GO.
    • Please note, the Route 12 buses stop at St. Catharines Fairview Mall, not the St. Catharines GO train station.

    Lakeshore East Service Adjustments May 27- 29

    There will be temporary service changes to the Lakeshore East, westbound train service beginning late evening Friday, May 27 until end of service on Sunday, May 29 to accommodate track replacement between Ajax and Pickering GO station. Westbound service at all stations from Oshawa GO station to Union Station will operate 20 minutes earlier than usual, except for the last train of the evening which will operate 10 minutes later than usual.

    Here’s what you need to know:

    Lakeshore East Corridor:

    Friday May 27:

    Westbound service:

    • The 9:40 p.m. Oshawa GO- 10:40 p.m. Union westbound trip will be the last train trip to run at regular schedule time.
    • The 10:10 p.m. Oshawa GO – 11:10 p.m. Union westbound trip will depart 20 minutes earlier at 9:50 p.m..
    • The 10:40 p.m. and 11:10 p.m. Oshawa GO to Union will depart 20 minutes earlier at 10:20 p.m. and 10:50 p.m.
    • The 11:40 p.m. Oshawa GO – 12:40 a.m. Union westbound trip will depart 10 minutes later at 11:50 p.m. to maintain its connection with the Lakeshore West schedule. The train will operate all stops 10 minutes later than usual

    Eastbound service:

    • There are no schedule adjustments for service from Union Station to Oshawa GO.

    Saturday, May 28 – Sunday, May 29:

    Westbound train service from Oshawa GO to Union Station is departing 20 minutes earlier.

    • The 04:45 a.m. 90B GO bus will run as scheduled.
    • Half-hourly train service will be maintained.
    • All trains from 5:00 a.m. onward will operate all stops 20 minutes earlier than usual.
    • Once at Union Station, there will be a 20-minute wait before continuing further west, all stops to Aldershot and West Harbour GO.
    • The last train westbound trip at 11:40 p.m. Oshawa GO – 12:40 a.m. Union will depart 10 minutes later at 11:50 p.m. to maintain its connection with the Lakeshore West schedule. The train will operate all stops Oshawa to Union 10 minutes later than scheduled.

    Eastbound service:

    • There are no schedule adjustments for service from Union Station to Oshawa GO.

    Lakeshore West Corridor:

    Friday May 27 -

    Westbound service:

    • The 12:45 a.m. Union – 02:03 a.m. West Harbour GO westbound trip will depart 10 minutes later at 12:55 a.m. to maintain its connection with the Lakeshore East schedule. The train will operate all stops 10 minutes later than schedule from Union Station to West Harbour GO.

    Saturday, May 28 – Sunday, May 29:

    Westbound service:

    • Westbound train service from Union Station to Aldershot and West Harbour GO stations will not be adjusted. Service will operate as scheduled.
    • Half-hourly train service will be maintained.
    • The last train at 11:40 p.m. Oshawa GO – 12:40 a.m. Union westbound trip will depart 10 minutes later at 11:50 p.m. to maintain its connection with the Lakeshore West schedule. The train will operate all stops 10 minutes later than usual.

    Niagara Falls Train Service:

    • There will be no impacts to this service.
    • Customers travelling to/from Niagara Falls VIA station will exit at Union Station. To check departure boards for the next available Lakeshore East train schedule.

    Peterborough/Oshawa and Port Perry/Whitby Bus Connections:

    Friday May 27:

    Customers travelling on the last GO bus 88 service from Trent University at 10:00 p.m. arriving 11:25 p.m. at Oshawa GO, will have an additional 10-minute wait at the station to connect to the last westbound Lakeshore East train service.l

    Saturday, May 28 – Sunday, May 29:

    Westbound service:

    Customers travelling on the GO bus 88 service from Trent University to Oshawa GO, will have an additional 10-minute wait at the station to connect to the next westbound Lakeshore East train service.

    Customers travelling on the GO bus 81 service from Simcoe Street @ Mara Road to Whitby GO, will have an additional 10-minute wait at the station to connect to the next westbound Lakeshore East train service.

  • Kitchener
    Update

    More Service Starting May 24

    We continue to bring back more GO train service.

    Starting Tuesday, May 24, we’re bringing back more evening rail service on the Kitchener line.

    • One additional eastbound trip will depart Kitchener GO at 8:45 p.m.
    • Two additional westbound trips to Kitchener GO will depart Union Station at 5:34 p.m. and 9:34 p.m., and one additional trip to Guelph GO will depart Union Station at 10:34 p.m.
    • To offer Kitchener line service later into the evening, the 8:43 p.m. westbound trip from Union Station will stop at Mount Pleasant GO, with bus connections to Kitchener.

    Also starting Tuesday, May 24, more trips will start and end at Kitchener GO throughout the day.

    • Eastbound trips at 8:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., and 2:47 p.m. will begin at Kitchener GO.
    • Westbound trips at 9:34 a.m. and 12:34 p.m. will be extended to Kitchener GO.

    To offer more consistent service during the afternoon rush hour, the 5:49 p.m. westbound trip to Kitchener GO will depart 15 minutes later, at 6:04 p.m.

    To accommodate rail traffic in the network, the 8:34 a.m. westbound train trip from Union Station will be cancelled and replaced by bus service, departing from the Union Station Bus Terminal at 8:16 a.m.

    For Acton GO customers, we’re making minor adjustments to some schedules to better reflect actual travel times. We know that every minute counts, so please check your schedules to make sure you get to your platform at the right time. Some trips will depart from your station one minute earlier.

    Some trains may be shorter than others. Please look down the platform when the train approaches as you may need to adjust where you’re waiting. Be sure to use all available doors to board and listen for station announcements. We continue to monitor ridership and will adjust train lengths as needed.

    More Service Starting May 24

    We continue to bring back more GO train service.

    Starting Saturday, May 28, weekend train service returns on the Stouffville line, following the completion of platform work at Unionville GO.

    • Trains will run hourly between Mount Joy GO and Union Station.
    • The first three southbound trips of the day will begin at Old Elm GO, departing at 7:19 a.m., 8:19 a.m. and 9:19 a.m. The last three northbound trips of the day, departing Union Station at 9:14 p.m., 10:14 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. will extend all the way to Old Elm GO.

    Starting Tuesday, May 24, train service extends later into the evening on the Stouffville line.

    • Four additional northbound trains will depart Union Station at 9:14 p.m., 10:14 p.m., 11:14 p.m., and 12:14 a.m., three of which extend all the way to Old Elm GO.
    • Three additional southbound trains will depart Mount Joy GO at 8:34 p.m., 9:34 p.m., and 10:34 p.m.
    • To offer Stouffville line service later into the evening, the 7:14 p.m. and 8:14 p.m. northbound trips will end at Mount Joy GO, with bus connections to Old Elm GO.

    Starting Tuesday, May 24, an additional morning trip will begin at Old Elm GO, departing at 9:19 a.m.

    Some trains may be shorter than others. Please look down the platform when the train approaches as you may need to adjust where you’re waiting.     Update

    Weekend Train Service Returns and More Weekday Trips, with Some Adjustments, Starting May 21

    We continue to bring back more GO train service.

    Starting Saturday, May 21, weekend train service returns along the Barrie line.

    • Southbound trains will depart Allandale Waterfront GO at 6:53 a.m., 8:08 a.m., 11:08 a.m., 2:08 p.m., 5:08 p.m. and 8:08 p.m.
    • Southbound trains will depart Aurora GO at 7:42 a.m., 8:57 a.m., then hourly until 9:57 p.m.
    • Northbound trains will depart Union Station hourly, from 8:53 a.m. until 10:53 p.m., including six extending all the way to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    Starting Tuesday, May 24, we’re extending three midday weekday trips to start and end in Barrie.

    • For customers travelling from Barrie, a train at 1:08 p.m. will take you from Allandale Waterfront GO to Union Station.
    • For customers travelling to Barrie, trips at 9:53 a.m. and 1:53 p.m. will take you from Union Station to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    We’re adding an additional southbound morning rush hour trip, departing Allandale Waterfront GO at 5:53 a.m. and arriving at Union Station at 7:33 a.m. To provide more consistent service through the morning rush hour, the 5:38 a.m. trip from Allandale Waterfront GO will depart 15 minutes earlier, at 5:23 a.m., arriving at Union Station at 7:03 a.m.

    Following the completion of important track work, we’re also bringing back late evening train service on the Barrie line.

    • One northbound trip will travel to Aurora GO, departing Union Station at 9:44 p.m.
    • Two northbound trips will travel all the way to Allandale Waterfront GO, departing Union Station at 9:53 p.m. and 10:53 p.m.
    • One southbound trip will depart from Aurora GO at 8:57 p.m.
    • One southbound trip will depart from Allandale Waterfront GO at 9:08 p.m.

    To offer Barrie line service later into the evening, the 7:53 p.m. northbound trip from Union Station will end at Aurora GO, with a bus connection continuing north to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    Barrie Service Adjustments June 4 - June 5

    There will be significant adjustments to train service and schedules on the Barrie line on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5.

    The service changes are to accommodate important work on the Davenport Diamond – the intersection where the Barrie GO line meets the CP rail tracks and one of the busiest train intersections in North America. We’re performing signal work, pouring concrete, and making other critical upgrades that can only be done safely when trains are not running. This work is part of the Davenport Diamond grade separation project, which will support significant service improvements on the Barrie GO line.

     

    Check schedules and plan ahead so you know what your travel options are. 

    Here’s what you need to know:

    • There will be no GO train or bus service directly between Union Station and Downsview Park GO
    • You can use the TTC to travel between these stations.
    • GO trains will run between Downsview Park GO and Allandale Waterfront GO on a reduced schedule.


    Summary of TRAIN options on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5: 

    Northbound Service:

    • Train service is suspended from Union Station to Downsview Park GO
    • All scheduled train trips from Union Station to Aurora GO are cancelled.
    • Trains will continue to run from Downsview Park GO to Allandale Waterfront GO on a limited service.
    • The 8:53 a.m. Union Station - 10:35 a.m. Allandale Waterfront GO is modified to begin at Downsview Park GO, with no bus replacement.
    • Trains will depart Downsview Park GO approximately once every three hours at 09:13, 12:13 p.m., 3:13 p.m., 6:13 p.m. and 11:13 p.m. and make all stops to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    Southbound Service:

    • All scheduled train trips from Aurora GO to Union Station are cancelled.
    • Trains will continue to run from  Allandale Waterfront GO to Downsview Park GO on a limited service.
    • Trains will run from Allandale Waterfront GO – Downsview Park GO at 06:53 a.m., 8:08 a.m., 11:08 a.m., 2:08 p.m., 5:08 p.m., and 8:08 p.m.

    Summary of GO Bus Options:

    Saturday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6:

    A bus bridge will be in place to take customers from Union Station Bus Terminal to Aurora or East Gwillimbury GO stations.

    Northbound bus service replacing long haul trains from Union to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    • The 11:53 a.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 41 minutes earlier at 11:12 a.m.
    • The 2:53 p.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 51 minutes earlier 2:02p.m.
    • The 5:53 p.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 46 minutes earlier at 5:07p.m.
    • The 8:53 p.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 32 minutes earlier at 8:22 p.m.
    • The 9:53 p.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 32 minutes earlier at 9:22 p.m.
    • The 10:53 p.m. Union Station train bus replacement will depart from Union Station Bus Terminal 31 minutes earlier at 10:22 p.m. Connection to the train is in Aurora.
    • Customers will arrive at East Gwillimbury GO to connect with GO bus 68B to continue to Allandale Waterfront GO.
    • Buses will serve Rutherford, King City and Maple GO stations, arriving 21 minutes earlier than the regular train schedule.
    • An additional bus will leave at 10:22 p.m. to take customers to East Gwillimbury GO to connect with GO bus 68B to continue to Allandale Waterfront GO.

    Northbound service:

    Union Station to Aurora GO with Connections to East Gwillimbury

    • Buses will replace all Union Station – Aurora GO trains, departing Union Station Bus Terminal 9:22 a.m., 10:17 a.m., 12:07 p.m., 1:07 p.m., 3:02 p.m., 4:07 p.m., 6:17 p.m., 7:22  p.m. with bus connections at Aurora GO to continue to Allandale Waterfront GO.
    • Buses will serve Rutherford, King City and Maple GO stations, arriving 21 minutes earlier than the regular train schedule.

    Additional Northbound service Union Station to Aurora GO only

    • Additional bus service Union Station – Aurora GO will depart Union Station Bus Terminal at 9:17, 10:12, 11:07, 12:02 p.m., 1:02 p.m., 1:57 p.m., 2:57 p.m., 3:57 p.m., 4:57 p.m., 6:12 p.m., 7:17 p.m., 8:17 p.m., 9:17 p.m., 10:17 p.m.
    • These bus replacements will run express to Wellington St. E @Hwy. 404 (Aurora Carpool lot) and will not serve Rutherford, King City, and Maple GO stations.

    Southbound service:

    A bus bridge will be in place to take customers from East Gwillimbury and Aurora GO to Union Station Bus Terminal.

    • Buses travelling from Aurora GO to Union Station Bus Terminal will pick-up customers from Aurora GO 5 minutes later than regular scheduled train trips.
    • Buses will serve Rutherford, King City and Maple GO stations 15 minutes later than the regular train schedules.
    • Bus trips will arrive at Union Station Bus Terminal 39- 57 minutes later than regular train service.

    Additional Service:

    East Gwillimbury to Union Station Bus Terminal

    • Buses will depart from East Gwillimbury GO station at 7:35 a.m., 8:50 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 2:50 p.m., 5:50 p.m., and 8:50 p.m., making all regular schedule stops to Union Station Bus Terminal.

    Additional Service:

    Aurora GO to Union Station Bus Terminal 

    • Buses  will depart from Aurora GO Station at 9:57 a.m., 10:57 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 12:57 p.m., 1:57 p.m., 3:05 p.m., 3:57 p.m., 4:57p.m., and 6:05 p.m.
    • These trips will run express after Wellington St. E @Hwy. 404 to Union Station Bus Terminal and will not serve Rutherford, King City and Maple GO Stations.

    Regular service will resume on Monday, June 6, 2022.
