Doors Open Toronto is a popular and exciting event that invites the public to explore some of the city’s most-loved buildings and sites, free of charge. Since it first started in 2000, the event has given visitors rare access to buildings usually closed to the public and free admission to sites that typically charge a fee. Over the years, it has attracted more than two million visits to nearly 700 unique locations, making it the largest event of its kind in Canada.

This year Doors Open Toronto explores Toronto’s playful development through the city’s most architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings and sites. From sports to music to theatre, Doors Open sites and programming will engage with the joyful, irreverent and sometimes serious times of play. Visitors will explore the many sides of our playful city – for kids of all ages.
