King's Plate Canada’s oldest and most prestigious horse race, the King’s Plate has been held annually since 1860 and steeped in royal tradition. It is the first jewel in the OLG Canadian Triple Crown, restricted to Canadian-bred three-year-old Thoroughbreds. It’s the longest continuously run stakes race in North America, often attended over the decades by royalty including Queen Elizabeth II and, originally, King George VI.

Breeders' Stakes The Breeders’ Stakes is the dramatic final leg of the Canadian Triple Crown and is unique in that it’s contested on the turf at Woodbine. As the last chapter for hopefuls chasing the three-race sweep, it’s always filled with tension and anticipation.
