Oakville GO Station Improvements

We're Transforming Your Station!


Starting April 2026, we’re transforming your station. These improvements and enhancements include platform work, a new pedestrian bridge, bus loop and parking lot improvements, and upgrades to the station building.

What type of work is happening?


Renovation work is underway at Oakville GO to enhance safety, accessibility and support increased service, including refurbished platforms with new canopies, shelters and mini-platforms; a new accessible pedestrian bridge with four elevators and staircases connecting platforms and parking structures; improvements to the bus loop with updated platforms, shelters and signage; and upgrades to the station building. These critical improvements will enhance access, safety and the overall customer experience while supporting population growth and rising ridership, advancing a more connected Greater Toronto and Hamilton area.

What's Changing


Renovations at Oakville GO will include the following upgrades, which will be done in a phased approach:

Platform rehabilitation with accessibility upgrades:

  • New mini-platform, canopies and shelters.
  • New elevators and stairs.

New multi-span, accessible pedestrian bridge:

  • Four elevators and staircases to platforms and parking structures.

Bus loop improvements:

  • Six additional bus platforms.
  • New heated passenger shelters and digital signage.

Parking lot improvements:

  • Top course asphalt replacement.
  • Line painting and signage.
  • New secured bike shelter.

Station building improvements:

  • Architectural, mechanical and electrical service upgrades.
  • Exterior/interior improvements.

What to expect at your station:


Phase one of construction work has begun at Oakville GO to enhance safety, accessibility and support more GO Transit service. This construction provides enhanced customer experience as we continue to move you throughout the Great Toronto and Hamilton area.  

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Improvements and enhancements include platform work, a new pedestrian bridge, bus loop and parking lot improvements, and upgrades to the station building.
  • 100 parking spots in the south parking lot, and 100 spots in the northwest parking lot, are inaccessible to customers for equipment storage, as we prepare for construction work. Parking is available in all lots and parking garage.
  • Widening and extension construction has begun on the new, temporary platform and is expected to be completed in July 2026. Platform 1 remains accessible.
  • Please follow directional signage and use caution around construction areas.
