Platform Changes at Rutherford GO
Starting Monday, August 17, all trains at Rutherford GO will use Platform 2 (east platform) only. Platform 1 (west platform) will temporarily be out of service to allow crews to install part of the new second track north of the platform.
These changes are expected to remain in place for approximately three years while construction continues.
This work will help support the ongoing GO Expansion project for future two-way, all-day GO service on the Barrie line.
What You Need to Know:
- All trains will use Platform 2 (east platform) only.
- Platform 1 (west platform) will be out of service.
- These platform changes are expected to be in effect for approximately three years.
- It is approximately a 7-minute walk to and from the main waiting area of the station building to the east platform.
- The community entrance at the north end of the east platform will open, with fare devices available.
- Please plan ahead and give yourself additional time for parking at the station and navigating to the east platform.
- Follow all directional signage and use caution when moving near construction fencing.
- This work schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances and weather conditions.
In addition to these platform changes, service on the Barrie line will be adjusted the weekend of August 15 and 16, with some residual adjustments in the week following.
On Monday Aug. 17, GO train service will run between Maple GO and Union Station. GO buses will replace train service between Maple and Allandale Waterfront GO.
*All train departure and/or arrival times have been adjusted.
*All train service will end at 20:00.
Additionally, some trips will not run. Please check your schedules before travelling to choose the departure times that work best for your commute.
