Lakeshore West
Major construction is now complete, and the new Confederation GO station will open in Hamilton on October 27.
Starting October 27, we’re adjusting service on the Lakeshore West line.
- All existing Lakeshore West trips serving Niagara Falls on weekdays and weekends will now stop at Confederation GO.
- We’re extending seven select trips to and from West Harbour GO on weekdays and weekends to serve Confederation GO.
- We’re extending six select trips previously to and from Oakville GO to serve Appleby GO. We’re also adjusting schedules to better reflect actual travel times.
Starting November 1, weekend service will increase on the Lakeshore West line to Niagara Falls.
On the weekends, the following trips depart Union:
- Union Station 9:04 a.m. to Niagara Falls 11:30 a.m.
- Union Station 11:09 a.m. to Niagara Falls 1:25 p.m.
- Union Station 5:07 p.m. to Niagara Falls 7:30 p.m.
- Union Station 7:22 p.m. to Niagara Falls 9:45 p.m.
On the weekends, the following trips depart Niagara Falls:
- Niagara Falls 11:58 to Union Station 2:25
- Niagara Falls 4:00 p.m. to Union Station 6:24 p.m.
- Niagara Falls 7:58 p.m. to Union Station10:23 p.m.
- Niagara Falls 10:04 p.m. to Union Station 12:29 a.m.
Existing trips between Union and Niagara Falls GO will be adjusted. There will also be two new trips between Union Station and Niagara Falls GO on weekends, now serving Niagara Falls go with eight trips on both Saturday and Sunday.
Niagara Falls weekend service will no longer be different on Saturday and Sunday and will operate the same service level all weekend.
Following these new Niagara Falls service enhancements, a total of 13 train trips on weekdays and 15 train trips on weekends serving the new Confederation GO station.
GO bus routes 11 and 12 will continue serving the station and customers will have more options for connections into the broader GO network.
- The station features modern amenities such as a full accessible platform, canopies to protect customers from inclement weather and bike racks. It also features a pick-up/drop-off zone with space for 15 vehicles, 148 parking spots and direct pedestrian stair access from the platform to Centennial Parkway.
Lakeshore East
Starting October 27, we’re adding six new rush hour trips on the Lakeshore East line.
We’re adding three new morning trips ─ one leaving from Durham College Oshawa GO and two leaving from Whitby GO heading towards Union Station.
- A new trip will depart DC Oshawa GO at 6:23 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Union Station at 7:27 a.m.
- A new trip will depart Whitby GO at 6:48 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Union Station at 7:47 a.m.
- A new trip will depart Whitby GO at 7:48 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Union Station at 8:47 a.m.
We’re also adding three new afternoon trips from Union Station heading towards Whitby GO.
- A new trip will depart Union Station at 4:13 p.m., making all station stops and arriving at Whitby GO at 5:10 p.m.
- A new trip will depart Union Station at 4:43 p.m., making all station stops and arriving at Whitby GO at 5:40 p.m.
- A new trip will depart Union Station at 5:13 p.m., making all station stops and arriving at Whitby GO at 6:10 p.m.
We’re also adjusting schedules to better reflect actual travel times.
Barrie
Starting October 27, we’re adding two new rush hour trips on the Barrie line.
We’re adding a new morning and afternoon rush hour trip between Aurora GO and Union.
- A new trip will depart Aurora GO at 7:20 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Union Station at 8:14 a.m.
- A new trip will depart Union Station at 4:53 p.m., making all station stops and arriving at Aurora GO at 5:46 p.m.
Stouffville
Starting October 27, we’re adding two new rush hour trips on the Stouffville line.
We’re adding a new morning and afternoon rush hour trip between Unionville GO and Union.
- A new trip will depart Unionville GO at 7:59 a.m., making all station stops and arriving at Union Station at 8:40 p.m.
- A new trip will depart Union at 4:50 p.m., making all station stops and arriving at Unionville GO at 5:31p.m.
We’re also adjusting schedules to better reflect actual travel times.
Richmond Hill
Starting October 27, we’re adjusting schedules on the Richmond Hill line to better improve service reliability and reduce congestion near Union Station.
- All trips southbound on the Richmond Hill line will depart up to 7 minutes earlier.
Always check your schedule in advance and plan your trip.
GO Bus Route 11 and 12
GO bus routes 11 and 12 will continue serving this station, and customers will have more options for connections into the broader GO network.
The station features modern amenities such as a full accessible platform, canopies to protect customers from inclement weather and bike racks. It also features a pick-up/drop-off zone with space for 15 vehicles, 148 parking spots and direct pedestrian stair access from the platform to Centennial Parkway.
The bus stop servicing these routes known as Centennial Pkwy North & QEW P&R will change to Confederation GO.
We are also renumbering the bus stop platforms, the platform locations will not be changed.

The length of your train may be changing.
- Many trains across the network will change in length.
- You may need to adjust where you are waiting on the platform.
- Please give yourself extra time to board.
- The number of coaches per train is noted on platform screens at all stations, except Union.

We’re making it more convenient and affordable to choose transit.
- You can use PRESTO to pay your fare on GO Transit, UP Express, Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, Hamilton Street Railway, MiWay, Oakville Transit, TTC and York Region Transit.
- Get a digital PRESTO card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for $0 and simply tap your phone or watch pay your fare.
- You can also tap a credit or debit card directly on a PRESTO device to pay your fare. If you use Apple Pay and Google Pay, you can tap your phone or watch instead.
- If you’d like to use a physical PRESTO card, you can buy one for $4 at a customer service outlet or vending machine.
