To help you get settled in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area (GTHA), we have easy-to-follow instructions that make riding on GO Transit comfortable, safe and convenient.

Get a new arrival GO Transit discount

Visit one of the settlement agencies listed below between June and September 2025 and receive a Welcome Kit with a free PRESTO card that includes 50% off adult GO Transit fares. This discount is good for travel between July 1 to September 30, 2025. Passengers must be between the ages of 20-64 years old and have arrived in Ontario within the past 3 years or less to qualify for the discount.

GO Transit made simple with MagnusCards

Make travel easier with GO Transit Card Decks in the MagnusCards app. MagnusCards is a mobile app that takes the guesswork out of travelling within the GO Transit network with clear, step-by-step instructions. The app is available in English, French, Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi and Mandarin.

Although originally developed for autistic and other neurodivergent people, this app is a great resource for anyone who needs step-by-step help with using GO Transit.

Use a PRESTO card to pay fares on GO trains and buses

If you have a PRESTO card, you can use it to pay fares on GO trains and buses.

First, you’ll need to add money to your PRESTO card using one of these methods:

a) Download the PRESTO mobile app or go online at prestocard.ca.

b) Use a PRESTO self-serve machine at a GO train.

c) Go to a participating Shoppers Drug Mart store and ask a customer service representative.

*For a limited time, when you use your new PRESTO card from the welcome brochure, you’ll automatically get a 50% discount off adult GO Transit fares from July 1 to September 30, 2025.

Create a PRESTO account

Protect your PRESTO card by creating a PRESTO account.

When you create a PRESTO account and add your card, your balance and passes are protected. See the “Lost or Damaged PRESTO card” website section for more information.

You can also:

• Set up Autoload: automatically add funds to your card when it’s running low.

• Set up Autorenew: automatically renew and load a transit pass each month.

• Review your PRESTO trips and transactions.

• Manage up to 10 cards with one account.
