- Richmond Hill GO Station Improvement
On April 20, phase three of construction will begin, affecting the way you board your train.
The north end of the platform will be temporarily closed, including the accessible ramp. Trains will be available for boarding at the south end of the platform.
Please note, that not all train doors will open upon arrival at Richmond Hill GO.
If you’re travelling to Richmond Hill GO:
From Union Station, please ensure you board the train at the accessibility ramp or west of it, towards York Street.
From another Richmond Hill line station, please ensure you board the train at the accessibility ramp or south of it.
The train car doors that will open, will be announced by the Customer Service Ambassador after departing Union Station and before arriving at Richmond Hill GO.
Here’s what you need to know:
- A temporary accessible ramp will be available, located approximately 250 meters south of the closure.
- Please remember to spread out along the platform and use all available doors when boarding.
- Plan ahead and give yourself additional time for parking and boarding your train.
- During this closure the platform asphalt will be repaired, and a new accessible ramp and platform safety features will be installed.
- Some parking spaces will be closed or repositioned, with approximately 12 reserved spaces being relocated during this closure to accommodate additional material storage.
- This work is expected to be complete by the end of May 2026.
- Follow all directional signage and use caution when moving around construction areas.
- This work schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances and weather conditions.
In addition to the platform and accessible ramp repairs, the following phases are also planned for later on this year;
Phase two: Upgrading the station building washrooms and doorways.
Phase four: Reconfiguration of the passenger pick-up and drop-off area.
Phase five: Installation of new traffic lights on Newkirk Road and new bike lane connecting the main and east parking lots.
