Set a Default Trip to Save Time

If you travel between the same two GO Train stations consistently, you can have a default trip set on your PRESTO card, and now with PRESTO contactless payment, you can set a default trip on a credit card. A default trip means you only tap on a PRESTO device at the beginning of your train trip and you don’t need to tap off at the end of your train trip. Default trips are only for GO Train trips, not for GO Bus trips.

How You Set a Default Trip Depends on What Type of Card You Use to Tap On a PRESTO Device

  • On your PRESTO card, set a default trip by using the PRESTO App, or in-person, visit a GO station ambassador at Union Station or a participating GO ticket agency.
  • On your credit card, set a default trip by using the PRESTO App or the PRESTO website. To set a default trip on your credit card, you will need to have a recent transaction visible when you Sign In to the app or website. You can create a PRESTO Account for easy access to 180 days of your transaction history or sign in without an account using your credit card details to see 7 days of transaction history.
