Lions, gorillas, giraffes, and more are waiting for you at the Toronto Zoo! The largest zoo in Canada is home to 500 species from around the planet, and is committed to protecting endangered wildlife. As you visit each area of the zoo, you’ll find animals from that part of the world. Don’t skip the Kids Zoo - little ones love it. And, after a long walk around the park, you can cool off at Splash Island, a 2-acre splash pad inside the zoo!

Get There With GO: Getting to the zoo is a breeze with our weekend seasonal direct bus service! GO Bus Route 96Z serves Oshawa GO, Whitby GO, Ajax GO, the Toronto Zoo, Scarborough Town Centre, Yonge and Sheppard, and Finch Bus Terminal. Centre Island is the perfect summer family day trip destination! Kids will love taking the ferry to the island, and there’s so much to do when you’re there. Relax or build sand castles on the beach, take a family bike ride around the island, or let the kids burn some energy on the playground and then cool off in the splash pad. Centreville Amusement Park is great for younger kids, but older children will also enjoy the log ride and the haunted house. The island has lots of shady spots for a picnic lunch, and kids also love racing through the hedge maze and exploring Franklin’s Garden.

Get There With GO: Travel by GO bus or train to Union Station and then walk south down Bay St. to the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.

Make a splash and cool off at this 45-acre water park! When the summer temperatures start soaring, your family will be so excited when you tell them that you’re taking a trip to Wet’n’Wild. With lots of waterslides, the Big Surf wave pool, and the Muskoka Soakah lazy river, there’s something for family members who like thrills and those who like to lounge. Kids will love getting soaked by the giant tipping bucket in Bear Footin’ Bay water play structure, and splashing and sliding in the Wet’n’Wild Jr. area.

Ripley’s Aquarium

Ripley’s Aquarium

You’ll feel like you’re underwater as the moving sidewalk takes you through Dangerous Lagoon and sharks, sea turtles, sawfish, and more swim over and around the tunnel. In other areas of the aquarium, you’ll encounter jellyfish, rays, and so many other sea creatures - including some that you can touch! Kids will love playing in the Discovery Centre, where they can go down a shark slide, explore a submarine, and climb a rock wall!

Get There With GO: Travel by GO bus or train to Union Station. Use the Skywalk and it’s a quick 10 minute walk to the aquarium.

Butterfly Conservatory

Ripley’s Aquarium

Take your family on a trip to the rainforest without leaving Ontario! You’ll feel like you’re stepping into a magical garden when you visit the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory, where over 2000 butterflies flutter around the tropical plants and waterfalls. Tip - if your kids are hoping that butterflies will land on them, dress them in brightly coloured clothing! Avoid bright colours for kids who would prefer to watch the butterflies from a distance. At the Emergence Window, you’ll see the butterfly life cycle in action - a great way to incorporate a bit of educational fun into your kids’ summer!

Get There With GO: Our weekend train service from Union Station to Niagara Falls is the best way to beat the traffic! When you arrive at the Niagara Falls GO Station, connect to Niagara’s WEGO transportation system. It will take you right to the Butterfly Conservatory.
