Fall activities in Ontario are waiting for you, just down the track!

Rail Safety Week

RSW1

At GO Transit, safety is always our number one priority, and we're actively supporting Operation Lifesaver's Rail Safety Week under the banner "Stop Track Tragedies.".  We know rail safety is a shared responsibility, which is why we work with all stakeholders to continually introduce safety improvements throughout our network as we expand our rail infrastructure and increase GO train service. We have trains that transport passengers between 60 stations covering 11,000 square kms and over 185 level crossings, per year (every day). The need to execute this safely every day is why we are so committed to safety as an inherent value at Metrolinx.

This commitment extends far beyond Rail Safety Week. It's ingrained in our culture. We are proud of our safety record, but we are always seeking improvements. Our MX Transit Safety Officers engage with communities year-round, and we have enhanced station safety with Station Ambassadors and train length information. We encourage everyone to play their part in safety. If you witness an incident, call Transit Safety Dispatch at 1-877-297-0642 or Text ‘HELP’ to 77777 to communicate in real-time with a CPS dispatcher to report or request assistance in the event of an emergency or safety concern. Safety is a core value, and at GO Transit, we are dedicated to keeping you, our passengers, communities, and colleagues safe, every day of the year.
